Wedding website travel section: what to write

By The Made For Our Day team · · 2 min read

What to write in the travel and accommodation section of your wedding website: getting there, where to stay, parking and getting around, with a builder for the text.

The travel section of a wedding website should say how to get there (nearest airport or main road), where to stay (with booking links and any cut-off date for a room block), and how to get around, including parking. Keep it short and practical. Choose your situation below and fill in your details for ready text.

Write the travel and stay section

Choose how most guests will arrive and where they will stay, fill in your details, and copy the section.

What goes in it?

  1. Getting there: the nearest airport, and how long the transfer takes, or the main road and the drive time from the nearest city.
  2. Where to stay: a hotel block with the booking link and cut-off date, or two or three suggestions at different prices.
  3. Getting around: parking at the venue, shuttles, taxis or rideshare, and the last practical time to leave.

What if guests are travelling far?

Add more: the best days to arrive and leave, a note to check passport and visa rules on the official government site, and local tips. The destination wedding website guide has a full checklist.

How do you write a room-block note?

State the hotel, the booking link or code, and the cut-off date clearly: "We have reserved rooms at the Driskill. Book by April 30 for the wedding rate." Remind guests a few weeks before the cut-off.

Where does it go on the site?

After the schedule. Guests look for when, then where to stay. See what to put on your wedding website, and for a full weekend, the guest itinerary planner.
