Get a first draft of a wedding speech or toast for the best man, maid of honour, a parent, a sibling or the couple, timed to one, two, three or five minutes.

What it does

Choose who is speaking, enter the names, pick a tone and a length, and add one short story if you have it. The tool writes a first draft with an opening, who you are, a story, what you see in the couple, a welcome for the new family member, and a toast. It tells you how long the draft runs when spoken aloud.

It is a drafting aid, not a ghost writer. You get two ways to draft:

  • The template draft appears as you type. It is built in your browser from prepared sentences, leaves clear gaps where only you can add the detail, and "Try another wording" switches between prepared variations. Nothing leaves your browser.
  • "Write it with AI" sends your answers to our server, which asks Cloudflare's AI service to write a fuller draft in your tone and length. It is told to use only the details you gave and to leave a [bracketed gap] rather than invent anything. We do not store what you send. AI can still get things wrong, so read every line.

The story is the part guests remember, so give it one either way.

How to make it yours

  1. Replace any bracketed gap with a real story: when, where, what happened, and what it showed you about them.
  2. Read it aloud and change every sentence you would not say. Speeches are heard, not read.
  3. Check the timing. Most people speak about 130 words a minute at a wedding, slower with nerves.
  4. Keep jokes to ones the couple and their grandparents will both enjoy.
  5. Finish with the toast, then raise your glass. Guests need the cue.

Is it free?

Is this written by AI?

Only if you ask. The draft you see first is built from prepared sentences in your browser. The "Write it with AI" button asks an AI model for a fuller draft from the same answers. Either way, check it and make it yours.

What happens to what I type?

The template draft never leaves your browser. If you press "Write it with AI", your answers go to our server and to Cloudflare's AI service to write the draft, and we do not store them. There is a daily limit on AI drafts for the whole site; if it is reached, the template draft still works.

How long should a wedding speech be?

Two to three minutes suits most speakers, or about 260 to 390 words. Five minutes is the upper end, and shorter is almost always better received.

Can the couple use it to thank their guests?

Yes. Choose "The couple, thanking guests". It drafts thanks, a line for parents, a line to each other and a toast.

Who speaks at a wedding?

It varies by family and culture. Common speakers are the parents, the best man, the maid of honour and the couple. Ask the couple or planner for the order and the time you have.
