Free wedding budget calculator
Enter your total budget and guest count to get a category-by-category split, set your priorities, track spending, and see what changing the guest list does.
What it does
Enter your total budget and the number of guests. The calculator splits the total across the main parts of a wedding, from the venue and catering to the rings, and shows what each part works out to. The amounts always add up to exactly your total.
Tick up to three things that matter most to you, such as photography or music, and they get a larger share, with the rest scaled down to fit. Open "Change the shares" to set your own percentages, and "Track what you have spent" to see what is left in each category and where you are over.
It also shows what ten more or ten fewer guests would do to your budget, because the guest list is the biggest lever you have.
Your numbers stay in your browser. The page address holds them so a bookmark brings them back, and nothing is sent to us.
How to use it well
- Start with the typical split, then change it as quotes arrive.
- Pay for the venue and catering decisions first. They set most of the rest.
- Keep the cushion. Something unexpected usually costs money.
- Update "spent" as you pay deposits, so you see the real picture.
- If you are over, change the guest list or the priorities before cutting small items.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up and nothing to install.
Where do the percentages come from?
They are a common starting point that planners use as a rule of thumb, not measured data for your country or city. Real costs vary widely, so treat the split as a first draft and replace it with quotes.
What currency does it use?
It works with any currency. Pick the symbol you want, or none. It does not convert between currencies.
Does it include tax and tips?
No. Add them to the amounts you enter, or keep them in the cushion.
How do I handle money from parents or family?
Add it to your total and note who is paying for what in your own records. The tool only needs the total.
