Free wedding seating chart maker
Paste your guest list, set the tables, and get a seating plan that keeps families and groups together and separates people who should not sit near each other.
What it does
Paste your guests, one per line, with an optional group after a | or a comma (Kabir Shah | Friends). Join people who must sit together with + (Asha + Ravi | Family). Choose how many tables and how many seats each table has. The tool seats groups together where they fit, and a couple or family always stays at one table.
If two guests should not share a table, list them under "Keep apart" as Name & Name. If a guest is in the wrong place, use the box beside their name to move them. Everyone else stays where they were.
When you are happy, download the plan for a spreadsheet, copy it as text, or print it. Nothing you type leaves your browser. The web address carries your list, so bookmark it to come back, and take care about who you share it with.
How the tool decides
- Couples and families joined with
+stay together. - Each group is placed at the table with the least spare room that still fits the whole group.
- If a group is bigger than a table, it is split across neighbouring tables, and the tool says so.
- People you want kept apart are never placed at the same table by the tool. If you move them together yourself, it warns you.
Tips
- Count people, not invitations. A "plus one" is a guest.
- Seat children near their parents, and elderly guests away from the speakers.
- Mix groups slightly. A table of strangers who share one friend usually goes better than a table of cousins.
- Leave one or two seats free per table for late changes.
- After the plan is final, give the caterer your meal counts and the venue your table list.
