Wedding hashtag generator with a shareable card

Enter your names and get classic, playful and short wedding hashtags, then download a card to share so guests tag their photos. Free, no sign-up.

What it does

Enter both first names, and optionally last names, the year and a place. You get a list of hashtags in three styles:

  • Classic, such as #PriyaAndDev or #TheCarters.
  • Playful, such as #PriyaAndDevSayIDo.
  • Short, such as #PriyaDev27, which are easiest to type.

Press any hashtag to copy it. Long ones are marked, because a short hashtag is easier to spell and read. Pick one for the card, preview it, and download it as a picture to put on your website, your save-the-dates or a sign at the reception.

How the hashtags are written

Each hashtag is built from your names with every word capitalised (for example #MaryJaneAndTom). Capital letters make a hashtag easier to read, and they help screen readers read it aloud correctly. Accents and punctuation are removed, so a name like José becomes Jose.

Before you choose

We cannot see inside other apps, so we cannot tell you whether a hashtag is already in use. Search your favourite on Instagram and TikTok first. If a few unrelated posts use it, add your year or your place. There are more ideas in our guide to wedding hashtag ideas.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, nothing to install, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

Can I use a hashtag from here that someone else has used?

Hashtags are not owned by anyone. If you want yours to be easy to find later, choose one that few other people have used.

How long should a wedding hashtag be?

Short enough to type on a phone without mistakes. Under about twenty characters is comfortable. The generator marks anything over twenty-four.

Should I include the year?

It helps if your names are common. #EmmaAndJack is probably in use already; #EmmaAndJack2027 probably is not.

What do I do with the card?

Put it on your wedding website, print it for the welcome table, or send it with your save-the-date. It gives guests a clear, friendly reminder to tag their photos.
